What is Northern Lights Presbytery? Northern Lights Presbytery is one of the nine presbyteries in Alberta and Northwest Conference of The United Church of Canada. There are thirty-one congregations within Northern Lights Presbytery We are geographically the largest Presbytery, taking in the North and Northwest area of Alberta, the Northeast corner of British Columbia and the Yukon and Northwest Territories. The presbytery is made up of many diverse communities, some of which have an agricultural base and others a resource base. View Northern Lights Presbytery in a larger map Because of the vast geography of Northern Lights Presbytery, meetings normally occur over a two-day period in the fall, winter and spring. There is usually a meeting also associated with a meeting (when there is one!) of Alberta and Northwest Conference, near the end of May, or with a Regional event in April. In November, January, and June, the Presbytery Executive meets to carry out the necessary business of the Presbytery and when necessary for other emergent issues by conference call. Presbytery
